Biography

Author of various monographic works, magazine essays and contributions to collective works, Prof. Margherita Pittalis specializes in Sports Law and Animal Law. She has dedicated various volumes and scientific publications to these areas, participating as a speaker in various international conferences, most recently at the Congress of 10-13 July 2019 in Madrid for the 70th anniversary of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW ), of which she is a member and where she gave a talk on "Participation of women in high performance sports in Italy". On 8 June 2022 she participated as a speaker in the conference organized by the Council of State in the person of President Franco Frattini, entitled "The rights of animal beings in the recent constitutional reform", Rome, Palazzo Spada, Sala di Pompeo.

She was appointed as an expert in Sports Law with the decree of 23 January 2020 by the Minister Vincenzo Spadafora for Youth Policies and Sport, for the purpose of implementing the Delegation Law of 8 August 2019, n° 86.

On 23 December 2022 she was appointed Judge of the Federal Court of Appeal of the Italian Football Federation.

Sports operators, athletes, managers and representatives of sports institutions take part in its Sports Law courses and conferences organized by it, bringing their contribution by giving interviews on the critical issues of the sports world, commented by the professional.

It has dedicated various scientific contributions and volumes to the Law of Animal Beings, establishing the first Italian chair on this subject at the University of Bologna and involving representatives of institutions, associations for the protection of animal beings and operators in its conferences and courses. sector.
